VIDEO: Wiener dog races at Colonial Downs

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Did you miss the wiener dog race at Colonial Downs this Saturday? Not to worry, 8News has you covered! Keep scrolling to catch a recap of the close race.

The “Hot Dog Dash” took place at Colonial Downs on Saturday, Aug. 24 with around 50 wiener dogs taking to the track for not just glory, but a $1,000 cash prize.

There was no wagering allowed on the wiener dog races — which took place between the regularly scheduled horse races — just an opportunity for family friendly fun.
