    Two juveniles, two adults arrested after multiple fights broke out at Chesterfield County Fair

    CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Two juveniles and two adults were arrested Saturday night after multiple fights broke out at the Chesterfield County Fair.

    At around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, Chesterfield County Police officers working at the Chesterfield County Fair were informed of the possibility of fights occurring between juvenile attendees.

    According to authorities, officers attempted to disperse the crowds in a peaceful manner to prevent any potential fights.

    According to Chesterfield Police, the fair gates closed as scheduled at 9 p.m. Saturday. However, members of the crowd outside the gates became reportedly upset and attempted to force their way in, causing fair personnel to close the fair early for the evening.

    Officials say it was at this time that a juvenile was arrested for assaulting a fair employee.

    According to Chesterfield Police, as crowds reached the parking lots, people continued to gather and multiple fights broke out. Multiple police officers responded and gave orders for the crowd to disperse. According to police, officers deployed pepper spray to break up multiple fights.

    During these events, another juvenile was reportedly arrested for assault on law enforcement, and two adults were arrested outside the fairgrounds in “related incidents.”

    According to officials, Chesterfield Fire advised EMS to treat 13 people, 12 of which were treated for pepper spray exposure and one for an arm injury. A juvenile male was transported by EMS for pepper spray exposure.

    According to police, a total of four people were arrested and charged with the following:

    • 15-year-old boy charged with simple assault
    • 14-year-old boy charged with assault on law enforcement
    • 18-year-old Klaron Dupree-Faulkner, of Richmond, was charged with:
      • Underage possession of marijuana
      • Possession of a firearm on school property
      • Disorderly conduct
      • Obstruction of justice
      • Trespassing
    • 31-year-old Eric Edwards, Jr., of Henrico County, was charged with:
      • attempted brandishing within 1,000 feet of a school
      • carrying concealed firearm

    According to police, the firearm in which Dupree-Faulkner was charged with the possession of on school property was found in his vehicle.

    Officials say the juveniles who were arrested were released to their parents at the scene. No police officers were injured.
