8Sports Knight-Cap: UVA wins big Week 1, Hokies stumble

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — 8News Sports Director Nolan Knight sat down in the WRIC NOW livestreaming studio to discuss the exciting first week of college football season.

Knight began the show by recounting the exciting showdown between the University of Virginia and the University of Richmond that led to a 34-13 victory for Virginia . He then discussed the disappointing season opener for Virginia Tech , losing to Vanderbilt with a score of 34-27.

Other games included the 69-7 win for Virginia Union over Kentucky State and the 23-7 win for Virginia State over Benedict College.

Knight also recapped 8Sports Blitz from last week and took a look ahead at the high school football schedule for this week.
