NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A 2-year-old boy is dead after he fell into a septic tank in Northumberland County on Friday.

Just before 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, deputies with the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to Gardy’s Mill Road in the Callao area after receiving a 911 call about a toddler that had fallen into a septic tank.

Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp told 8News that the toddler’s father pulled him out of the tank and started CPR. Once first responders arrived at the scene, they continued life-saving measures.

How??? Anyone would know, especially if you have kids, that an open septic, or any other holes are an invite for children. God why? I will save my sympathies to the parents, for when I find out why this horrible thing happened. Rest in Peace little Angel. 🙏
