    Person killed in Chesterfield County crash, police investigating

    CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Chesterfield County Police are investigating after a person was killed in a crash on Sunday night.

    According to Chesterfield County Police, on Sunday, Sept. 8 they responded to the 6700 block of Route 1 (Jeff Davis Highway) for a person that had been hit by a car at around 7:45 p.m.

    Chesterfield County Fire and EMS responded as well and the person was pronounce dead at the scene. The identity of the victim will not be available until the next of kin is notified. The driver remained on the scene.

    This crash is currently being investigated by the Chesterfield County Police Department Crash Team
