    Pedestrian killed in crash identified as 68-year-old Chesterfield woman

    CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Police have identified the woman who was killed by a driver when crossing Jefferson Davis Highway in Chesterfield County Sunday evening.

    At 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department responded to a crash where the driver of a 2001 Nissan Altima hit a pedestrian who was crossing Jefferson Davis Highway.

    The pedestrian, identified by police as 68-year-old Barbara J. Royster of Chesterfield, was pronounced dead the scene.

    Police said the driver of the car stayed at the scene. Police continue to investigate the crash, anyone with information is asked to call police at 804-748-1251.
