KING AND QUEEN COUNTY, VA. (WRIC) — A Middlesex County man is dead after police say he crashed into another car head-on while driving on the wrong side of Route 33 in King and Queen County on Friday.

According to Virginia State Police, the crash took place at around 11:52 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13 on Route 33 near Route 14.

Police determined that 35-year-old Craig Adam Jowers of Middlesex County was driving a 2006 Nissan Maxima heading west in the eastbound lanes of Route 33 when he struck a 2005 Nissan Armada head-on.

Jowers, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, 38-year-old Michael Scott Walker of Gloucester County, was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
