EVENTS: Downtown Ashland presents, 31 days of dastardly delights

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Downtown Ashland is coming alive for Halloween with 31 days of dastardly delights.

According to Downtown Ashland Association, local businesses will collaborate to host 31 days of spooky events in historic downtown Ashland beginning Oct. 1 through Oct. 31

The association shared there are more than 20 events already scheduled with more coming soon, below are the events that are already on the radar:

Events:

Ashland Spooky Lights Tour

• Throughout the month of October
• Talk a walk through the Spooky Lights Tour and enjoy the display of lights in historic downtown Ashland. These are sights you won’t want to miss whether you’re walking, driving, or riding the train. If you live in the historic downtown district and would like to sign-up to add your home to the lights tour, you can do so here .

RED VEIN Escape

• Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 1 to 6 p.m.
• RED VEIN Escape is a year-round escape game center located at, 108 Robinson Street in Ashland. Starting Oct. 2, three Halloween-themed escape games will open — Mark of the Witch, Secrets of the Dead and Phobia.

Spirits of Railroad Avenue Tours

• Weekends — 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.
• The Spirit of Railroad Avenue Tours are presented by Ashland Haunted History Tours and focuses on the rich history and dark tails of the town. Tours will start from 108 Robinson Street, beginning at 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sundays. To book your tour, click here .

Candy Giveaway at Tiny Tim’s Trains and Toys

• Monday, Oct. 28 through Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Swing by Tiny Tim’s Trains and Toys , located on 104 South Railroad Ave., for its candy giveaway. According to the organizers, there will be fang-tastic lollipops given out at the three-day event.

Scale Scavenger Hunt

• Thursday, Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Want to participate in a good scavenger hunt while listening to spooky music and enjoying complimentary treats? Join Thrill of the Hunt , located at 315 England Street, for its Halloween Scale Scavenger Hunt.

Ashland Halloween Market

• Thursday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 8 p.m.
• Come out and enjoy the Ashland Halloween Market & Scavenger Hunt, with local vendors that will be set up along the Town Hall Lawn and Jessica Robertson Studio — 121 Thompson Street.

“Masked Singer” Karaoke

• Thursday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 8 p.m.
• Head down to the Ashland Town Hall Pavilion for a “Masked Singer” style karaoke event where you can sing along to some of your favorite tunes.

Kids Trick-or-Treat and Scavenger Hunt

• Thursday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 8 p.m.
• The Town of Ashland is hosting a Kids Trick-or-Treat and Scavenger Hunt event for the whole family. Come out and fill your bags with Halloween treats, get your scavenger hunt card and stroll through the historic downtown Ashland area, then claim your prize at the end of the night.

Candypalooza Lane

• Thursday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 8 p.m.
• New Community Church is hosting its Candypalooza Lane event at Caravati’s Architectural Salvage, located at 201 England Street. This Trunk or Treat events is one for the whole family to enjoy.
