RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond Police Department is investigating all-terrain vehicle (ATV) crash on Saturday that left a man with life-threatening injuries.

According to police, at around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, officers were called to the 2100 block of Dock Street for a report of a single-vehicle crash. The officers found a man in the eastbound lanes of the road, he was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

An ATV belonging to the injured man was found at the scene on the Virginia Capital Trail — which runs parallel to Dock Street.

The Richmond Police Department’s Crash Team responded and investigators are currently looking for information regarding the circumstances of the crash.

According to police, there is a possibility that the man “may have been part of a large group of ATVs and motorbikes which were operating recklessly throughout the city at the time of the crash.”

Following an investigation of the group, investigators also seized motorbikes and made arrests on Saturday.

Anyone with information about the cause of the crash or the identity of any riders in the group is asked to call Crash Team Investigator R. Jamison at 804-646-1665.

This land squarely on RPD shoulder. Of course, they won't take responsibility. This just another casualty caused by RPD refusal to be an decent law enforcement agency. It was 30-40 dirt bikes and 4 wheelers speeding all over the city on Sat. None of them bikes are registered and they all breaking traffic laws. Can not depend on RPD for sht. They speeding and doin wheelies on the road and took over a whole intersection in broad daylight and pssy cops did nothing. Cops don't do sht to help Richmond. They don't enforce curfew so kids breakin into cars. They don't enforce laws in the hood so crime increase. They don't stop dirt bikes so people run into busses and off the road. It's video clips all over social media of these dirt bikes on the road on sat.
