    20-year-old man indicted in connection to shooting death of girlfriend in Chesterfield

    CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A man has been indicted in connection to the shooting death of his girlfriend , a 22-year-old Henrico County woman, in August.

    On Monday, Sept. 16, a grand jury indicted 20-year-old Seth J. Branch with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony in connection to the shooting death of his girlfriend, 22-year-old Allison J. Tignor.

    At 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department responded to the 3700 block of Passage Way Drive for a report of a shooting.

    When officers arrived, they found Tignor with a gunshot wound. She was then taken to a local hospital where she later died due to her injuries on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

    Police said that during the early morning hours of Friday, Aug. 30, Branch was arrested and charged with aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in connection to the shooting.

    Branch continues to be held at Riverside Regional Jail without bond, according to police.
