    Missing woman who abandoned car on I-64 in Albemarle found safe

    UPDATE: Moranville was found and is safe, according to Virginia State Police.

    ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A woman who went missing after police said she abandoned her car on Interstate 64 West in Albemarle County on Wednesday was found and is safe.

    On Wednesday, Sept. 18, Virginia State Police issued a critically missing adult alert for 45-year-old Carrie Joy Moranville, who was last seen at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday on I-64 westbound near milepost 113.9 in Albemarle County.

    According to state police, Moranville abandoned her vehicle on the interstate.

    Early in the morning on Thursday, Sept. 19, state police said she was found safe.
