    28-year-old suspect charged with murder in connection to deadly Chesterfield shooting

    CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Chesterfield County Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection to a deadly shooting that occurred on Saturday , according to police.

    At around 4:25 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, police were dispatched to the 7300 block of Hamner Terrace for a report of a shooting.

    Once police arrived on the scene, they found 31-year-old Terran Goode of Chesterfield County with a gunshot wound. Goode died on the scene.

    After the investigation, detectives acquired a warrant for 28-year-old Joshua Carter, also of Chesterfield County, for second-degree murder in connection to Goode’s death.

    On Sunday evening, Sept. 22, Carter was arrested in Richmond with help from the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Regional Fugitive Task Force.

    According to Chesterfield police, Carter is currently being held in Chesterfield County Jail without bond.
