    Petersburg to host recovery event for National Recovery Month

    PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — In recognition of National Recovery Month, Petersburg Community Corrections will host a free event for anyone on their recovery journey and folks looking for resources to help a loved one struggling with substance use disorder.

    The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25 inside Petersburg Public Library, located at 201 West Washington Street, according to organizers.

    Attendees can expect to learn about recovery resources from more than 15 vendors and agencies, hear recovery testimonials, participate in art activities, grab some free food, get Narcan and more.

    I am not sure why our tax dollars are being used to help people recover from an overdose. It is truly a decision they made of their own will. Therefore let them live or with their decision. Use the money to educate our children.
