HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Henrico Sports & Events Center has announced it will host its first brewery event series designed to highlight the new facility as a gathering spot.

The first brewing event of the series will be the Meet the Brewer event on Thursday, Oct. 10, which will feature seasonal and traditional brews from Center of the Universe Brewing Company.

The founder and master brewer of Center of the Universe, Chris Ray, will be on hand from 6 to 7:30 p.m. to share brewing insights and answer questions.

“We are excited to partner with the Henrico Sports and Events Center for their inaugural brewer event,” Ray said. “It is great having such an impressive complex just a few miles from the brewery, and we are thrilled to be a part of this new addition to the community!”

Beginning at 7:30 p.m., the focus will be on the Watch Party for the James Madison University’s (JMU) football game against Coastal Carolina.

“The Henrico Sports & Events Center is more than just an events venue,” said General Manager, Will Berryman. “It is a local asset and destination where the community can come and enjoy, not just sports and events, but great food and drink with friends and colleagues.”
