Pedestrian hit, killed in Chesterfield crash

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A pedestrian was hit and killed in a crash on Route 1 in Chesterfield Saturday night.

According to the Chesterfield County Police Department, at around 7:33 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28 a car was traveling south in the 11700 block of Route 1 when it hit a person in the roadway.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is currently cooperating with police.

The identity of the victim is being withheld until police can notify the next of kin.

Police are continuing their investigation into this crash, anyone with information about the incident is urged to call the Chesterfield County Police Department at 804-748-1251.
