Ball held in Richmond raised nearly $300,000 for Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A ball was held in Richmond on Saturday to celebrate Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia’s milestone year of granting wishes in the Commonwealth.

On Saturday, Sept. 28, the Art of Wishes: A Wish Ball Gala was held at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond with an evening filled with hopeful stories, cocktails and entertainment to celebrate the milestones of Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia in the Commonwealth.

According to Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia’s website , the organization has granted more than 5,800 wishes since 1987, but there are still more than 250 children waiting to have their wishes granted.

The event raised nearly $300,000 in raffles from both silent and live auctions for Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia.

Several 8News team members attended the event, including 8News Morning Anchor Delaney Hall who was an emcee for the ball.
