RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond Police Department is looking for a suspect in an attempted armed robbery on Birch Street.

At about 7:45 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, officers were called to the 400 block of Birch Street for report of an attempted armed robbery.

The victim, an unidentified man, reportedly told officers that the suspect brandished a firearm and told the victim to give him money. According to police, the victim did not have any money on him at the time, so the suspect “searched the victim’s pockets.”

The suspect then left on foot in an unknown direction before officers made it to the scene. He did not take anything from the victim.

A nearby surveillance camera captured footage of the suspect, shown below.

If you have any information on this suspect, you are asked to contact the Richmond Police Department at 804-646-1951.
