    LIST: October events at Stony Point Fashion Park to enjoy this spooky season

    RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Looking for something to do this spooky season? Stoney Point Fashion Park in Richmond is hosting several events throughout the month of October.

    Stony Point Fashion Park, located at 9200 Stony Point Parkway in Richmond, is hosting a variety of events this Halloween — “from pumpkin carving with adorable goats to our festive Howl-O-Ween celebration for kids and pets,” according to a Stony Point spokesperson.

    Other things happening this month include Stony Point’s first-ever “Small Business Social.”

    Pumpkin Carving with Goats, Saturday, Oct. 5

    • Saturday, Oct. 5, from 2 to 5 p.m.
    • $20 per person; pumpkins available for $15

    “Get into the fall spirit and carve pumpkins alongside our adorable, costumed dwarf goats who love snacking on pumpkin scraps,” the spokesperson said.

    Purchase of a ticket includes all carving materials. Those interested must reserve a time slot in advance – tickets can be purchased online . According to the spokesperson, this event will happen rain or shine.

    Small Business Social, Thursday, Oct. 10

    • Thursday, Oct. 10, from 5 to 7 p.m.
    • Free entry, RSVP required

    “Calling all small business owners! Join us for an evening of networking, fun and business opportunities at Stony Point’s Small Business Social,” the spokesperson said.

    This event will include a DJ and raffles, as well as opportunities to speak with Richmond business associations and learn about on-site leasing opportunities at Stony Point Fashion Park. There will be light refreshments.

    According to the spokesperson, attendees will be able to pick up a beverage coupon in the courtyard near P.F. Chang’s, then head over to an area near C&G and Luxury Candles to enjoy entertainment and workshops.

    Open Studio Saturday, Saturday, Oct. 12

    • Saturday, Oct. 12, from 12 to 5 p.m.
    • Held at Zero Empty Spaces

    Open Studio Saturday happens every second Saturday of each month at Zero Empty Spaces.

    Attendees will be able to view the work of local artists, meet said artists and “get a behind-the-scene look at their creative process,” according to the spokesperson. There will also be opportunities to purchase artwork.

    Cars & Coffee October Events (including Trunk or Treat), Oct. 12 and 26

    • Saturday, Oct. 12 and Saturday, Oct. 26, from 8 to 10 a.m. both days
    • Held in parking lot in front of Eggspectation

    Cars & Coffee returns for the month of October with two planned events.

    “Join us for a morning of automotive splendor, where car enthusiasts come together to showcase their unique and classic vehicles,” the spokesperson said. “Whether you’re displaying your own car or simply enjoying the spectacle, it’s a great way to kickstart your weekend.”

    Two nearby restaurants will offer discounts with proof of attendance to Cars & Coffee events. Eggspectation will give a 10% discount to any qualifying customers visiting between 8 and 11 a.m. and Verseau Bistro will provide a 15% discount on any qualifying customers’ total bill. Those who choose Eggspectation can also purchase a Mimosa Flight Special for $14.99 during the specified hours.

    Central Virginia, tidewater shelters team up to help animals displaced after Radford Animal Shelter flooded

    On Saturday, Oct. 26, Cars & Coffee will host Stony Point’s 5th Annual Trunk or Treat.

    “Attendees with vehicles are encouraged to creatively ‘dress up’ with their cars and bring candy for children to enjoy a fun-filled trick-or-treating experience,” the spokesperson said. “Families are welcome to bring their kids for a unique Halloween celebration with an automotive twist.”

    Record RIOT!, Saturday, Oct. 19

    • Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • $5 for general admission, $15 for early entry at 9 a.m.

    “Join fellow vinyl enthusiasts at this exciting record collectors event, where fans can buy, sell and trade a wide variety of records, from rare finds to classic albums,” the spokesperson said.

    Record RIOT! will take place at Space 190, located next to Crossroad Records. According to the spokesperson, you can find it by entering near Dillard’s and LensCrafters, then turning right.

    There will be 20 dealers and 35 tables. In addition to the expected vinyls, there will be CD vendors, food and drinks. According to the spokesperson, this event is handicapped-accessible.

    The RAMble: Walking for Wellness Event, Saturday, Oct. 19

    • Saturday, Oct. 19, from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
    • Held near Stony Point’s dog park

    Those of all fitness levels are welcome to participate in this exercise walk around Stony Point’s property. Prior to the walk, a VCU Health provider with VCU Massey Cancer Center Integrative Health will host a brief talk.

    No sign-up is needed for this free event.

    The RAMble will be held every third Saturday of every month, according to the spokesperson. To learn more, visit the VCU Massey Cancer Center’s website .

    Furniture Painting Class, Friday, Oct. 25

    • Friday, Oct. 25, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
    • $50 per person

    “Unleash your creativity and give your old furniture a fresh, new look at Upcycle Design,” the spokesperson said. “Join us for a hands-on session where you’ll learn techniques to transform and upcycle your pieces into stylish, personalized works of art.”

    Attendees of Upcycle Design’s class will be offered “best practice instruction” on the furniture painting process from start to finish. They will be shown “industry best products” and given hands-on opportunities to learn various techniques.

    Collect acorns and tree nuts at Powhatan State Park to help with reforestation

    There will be giveaways and refreshments. Those interested can sign up by calling Upcycle Design at 313-528-6331.

    Howl-O-Ween, Saturday, Oct. 26

    • Saturday, Oct. 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    • Held on The Green and in the common areas near Books Brothers and MediaNoche

    This pet-friendly Halloween event has a lot to offer. It will feature a variety of entertainment, such as live performances from Bach to Rock and magic shows. There will be glitter tattoos and pet caricatures to enjoy.

    At Discovery Chess’ both, attendees can get festive by building Pumpkin Bots and LED Ghosts — both of which can be taken home afterward. They will also hand out candy and fidgets.

    The Richmond Public Library will host a booth complete with an arts and crafts station. Its staff will also hold story time reading. The Richmond SPCA’s booth will have coloring sheets and stickers. Those with furry friends can also visit the Verseau Bistro for a pup cup.

    Attendees will be able to browse Halloween-themed boxes on the Bite by Bite & Co. charcuterie cart.

    The first 150 kids to arrive will receive goodie bags, according to the spokesperson.

    For a chance to win two Cinebistro tickets and two appetizer/dessert passes, bring along some canned goods to donate to FeedMore.
