FLORIDA (WRIC) — As Hurricane Milton passed through Florida, devastating footage shared with 8News captured some of the damage left behind.

Millions of Florida residents are without power after Milton came through Wednesday night, and left a path of destruction.

A photo shared with 8News shows a glimpse above Tropicana Field, home to the Tampa Bay Rays, where the roof blew off Wednesday night. The image shows the top of the baseball stadium, now open, with debris everywhere. First responders were sheltering there, but it’s been reported no one was injured.

Horrifying videos shared out of Sarasota show how high the flood water got and how hard the wind and rain were. There’s even footage of someone stopped in their car in the middle of the street as the storm howled around them.

More footage of damage includes a tree blocking an entire street. Now that Milton has cleared out of Florida, people begin assessing the damage and begin the clean-up effort.
