RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Natural Awakenings Richmond Healthfest took place this weekend as community members gathered to explore local wellness products and services.

On Saturday, Oct. 12, the Natural Awakenings Richmond Healthfest was held at Dewey Gottwald Center at the Science Museum of Virginia. The free event offered several things for people to enjoy, including a vendor marketplace, live demonstrations from wellness experts, health-conscious food trucks and more.

Natural Awakenings is a magazine in Richmond that focuses on all things related to local healthy living. 8News spoke with Regina Rudolph, Publisher of Natural Awakenings, about what it means to her to do an event like this.

“It’s one thing to have the magazine, it’s another to actually bring the community to the practitioners,” Rudolph said. “You can see things listed in the magazine, not really know what they are or be kind of skeptical on whether it’s something you want to try — but at an event like this, you come face to face with those practitioners and they can educate you and they can teach you.”
