CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — As the seasons change, many of us are cleaning out our closets. And if you have a few pairs of jeans you don’t need, you can donate them to the Chesterfield County Public School denim drive .

Chesterfield Schools have teamed up with Goodwill to support its job training program and raise funds for the schools. The school that donates the most can win a $1,000 cash prize. Second and third place schools win $750 and $500.

If you want to participate, you can donate second-hand jeans and other denim items. Donations can be dropped off at the Career and Technical Center at Hull, located at 13900 Hull Street Road in the county’s Midlothian area from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on both Oct. 19 and 20.

Once there, you can say which school you want to get that cash prize.

Goodwill said this is a great chance to practice sustainability and donate warm clothing for those in need as we head into winter, and some of the denim donated even gets repurposed into other items.
