Letter to the Editor: The monster under your bed
Sheriff Sean Derringer recently addressed the Delano Area Chamber of Commerce to lay out a dire warning to Wright County and every other county in the United States. After a trip to Israel sponsored by the Jewish Institute for the National Security of America, he became aware of danger lurking within every county and town in the US – undocumented immigrants trained to do terroristic, commando-type attacks against “soft targets, churches and schools.” And he warned his audience, “They don’t have to break into our country; they are already here.”

Creative Coffee Chats series kicks off with renowned speaker
BUFFALO — The Wright County Historical Society (WCHS), a nonprofit committed to serving the community, is launching a new program, Creative Coffee Chats, aimed at combating social isolation and loneliness. The program kicks off on Thursday, July 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Wright County Historical Society, 2001 Highway 25 North, Buffalo, with a presentation by nationally renowned speaker and motivator Dr. Corey Martin. WCHS’s free Creative Coffee Chats will offer monthly presentations — designed to be fun and informative — followed by an engaging hands-on component and light refreshments. Senior Community Services, the same nonprofit agency I have worked for more than 32 years, provides the HOME Program at our center. The HOME Program can assist people ages 60-plus with repairing faucets, toilets, outlets, fixtures and more. The program also can help with minor carpentry projects, housekeeping and snow removal. Authorities Asking For Help To Find Runaway
WRIGHT COUNTY (WJON News) -- The Wright County Sheriff's Office is asking for people's help in finding a runaway. The Sheriff's Office says 16-year-old Derek Sachs left his home at about 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday on his own and has not been seen since.
