The Rust Family
Ron and Sharon Rust have been Centerville residents for 21 years. They share 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Ron is a retired pharmacist, having spent the bulk of his employment at Grandview and Southview hospitals (now part of the Kettering Health Network.) Sharon is a retired educator, spending the last 15 years of her career providing computer training for adults. They are avid hikers, and love traveling, especially cruising.

In 2002 the British photographer and photo editor Peter Howe was on a book tour for "Shooting Under Fire: The World of the War Photographer." Howe began his career as a fashion photographer then he documented violent conflicts as a war photographer. He was also well known as a photo editor and this collection of war photos became his best known work.

I stood alongside the side of the show ring this week while my daughters exhibited sheep at the State Fair. I reflected on the time and hard work spent getting to this point. Washing, walking, feeding, and cleaning pens are just part of our daily routine to raise a sheep project for the show. A good portion of our summer is invested in working lambs on a daily basis. We choose to say no to many other opportunities in order to fully invest our time and resources into working with the show animals. Preparation is key. They must be fed properly, water buckets scrubbed out, leg hair conditioned, washed, and blown dry.
MVVM hosts first responders Sept. 4
TROY — “Coffee and Donuts with First Responders” is set for Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 9 a.m., at the Miami Valley Veterans Museum (MVVM). An unruly bar patron that repeatedly refused law enforcement’s efforts to calm her down was arrested Saturday, Aug. 17, after causing an extended disturbance.
