Calvary Days baseball advances to the semifinals

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Calvary Day will head to the GHSA Class 3A Final Four after sweeping Dawson County.

After a rain delay on Saturday afternoon, Calvary Day finally walked back on the field at Grayson Stadium with a 2-0 lead in the top of the 4th inning.

“I told the guys when we got back out there, ‘we’re built for this kind of stuff,'” Phillip Lee, Calvary Day’s athletic director and head baseball coach, said.

His team responded by winning game one, 7-3.

Later, as the sun began to set, Calvary Day and Dawson County’s players headed back to the field for game two. Calvary Day’s bat would get hot as the Cavaliers won 11-3 to complete the sweep.
