Calvary Day lands 3, Long County 1 on Preseason Class AAA All-State team

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Class AAA is considered one of the toughest classifications in the GHSA, but some stand out against the rest.

On Aug. 8, Georgia High School Football Daily announced the top players at each position.

Calvary Day had three on the list, like wide receiver Thomas Blackshear who is expected to have a big year. The senior committed to the University of Georgia in May. They also have senior Sam Hensley on the offensive line and defensive lineman Walter Mathis for the defensive side of the ball.

Calvary Day starts it quest for a state title on Aug. 16 at home against Beach.

Long County also landed a name on the list, defensive back Christopher Hatfield. Long County opens their season on Aug. 16 at home in Vidalia.
