JASPER COUNTY, S.C. (WSAV) – The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) has announced that it will be taking part in the annual “Hands Across the Broder” campaign.

JCSO, in collaboration with other state and local agencies from South Carolina and Georgia, will participate in the initiative that takes place at the South Carolina and Georgia state line on August 29, 2024.

The campaign includes a safety checkpoint conducted at the Talmadge Bridge on US 17. The event is part of a larger effort to ensure road safety and foster cooperation between neighboring states.

Motorists can expect to see an increased presence of law enforcement officers at the checkpoint, where officers will conduct sobriety checks and ensure compliance with traffic laws.

This event is a key part of the broader “Hands Across the Border” initiative, which is recognized for its effectiveness in enhancing road safety through collaborative efforts. JCSO encourages all drivers to be mindful of the laws designed to protect everyone on the road.
