Chatham Co. Police Dept. distribute school supplies

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) – On Saturday, the Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) gave away school supplies to dozens of children in the Westlake Apartments and Regency Mobile Home Park neighborhoods.

The giveaway was part of CCPD’s ongoing community policing efforts and comes at a time when many families need an extra boost.

The Savannah-Chatham County school year was paused just two days after it began due to the effects of Hurricane Debby.

Class is now back in session, and CCPD hopes the brand new book bags, lunch bags, and school supplies add to the excitement that comes with the start of a new school year.
