BBQ restaurant in Savannah ranked among the best in the south

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – A local BBQ restaurant in Savannah has been named on Southern Living’s The South’s Best New Barbecue Joints Of 2024 list.

Slow Fire BBQ was ranked 20th on the list and was noted for serving locally sourced beef, pork and low country novelties like shrimp with pork sausage.

According to Southern Living, the rankings in the list are determined by Robert Moss, Southern Living’s Contributing Barbecue Editor, based upon what the magazine says, many years of traveling the South eating barbecue.

The magazine says he has dined at each restaurant in person and there are no score sheets or empirical grading systems employed. Instead, it is a qualitative ranking based upon the enjoyment of the meal and the overall experience of the visit.
