Hinesville PD arrest robbery suspect

HINESVILLE, Ga. (WSAV)—The Hinesville Police Department (HPD) said that they have arrested a robbery suspect following a stolen firearm.

Monday night at approximately 7:30 p.m., a sudden snatching occurred on Kelly Drive where the suspect stole a firearm from a person’s pocket inside the store, the HPD’s Facebook post read. Responding officers were able to identify the suspect and obtain warrants for Khalia Carlton, HPD said.

On Tuesday around 4 p.m., HPD said that officers spotted Carlton on foot in the 1100 block of Kelly Dr and announced themselves. Carlton fled, which led to a foot pursuit, according to the post.

HPD said that HPD, Liberty County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), Walthourville Police Department (WPD) and Georgia State Patrol (GSP) converged on the area. Carlton was located and arrested without incident according to HPD.
