Tybee Police respond to report of animal sacrifice

TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WSAV)—Tybee Island Police Department (TIPD) responded to the beach near 6th Street about an animal sacrifice.

Officers found a dead bird lying near a blanket and several pieces of fruit on Aug. 25, TIPD said in their press release recap from late August.

This is not the first time that TIPD has responded to reports of animal sacrifices, reports from 2021. In 2021, two headless roosters and cups of blood were found on the beach near 8th Street.

TIPD said that they filed a report, and the Department of Public Works was contacted for clean-up.
