Hampton man charged with Tractor Supply burglary

HAMPTON, S.C. (WSAV) – A Hampton man who stole supplies from Tractor Supply Company on Saturday evening has been apprehended, according to a new report from the Hampton Police Department (HPD).

The estimated value of the materials stolen was upwards of $50,000 “with likely to be more,” according to the HPD statement.

HPD responded to a call from Tractor Supply on Sunday in regards to the overnight burglary. While assessing the scene, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) Crime Scene was called in to assist HPD. SLED-Lowcountry, Hampton County Sherriff’s Office and Jasper County Sherriff’s Office also contributed to the investigation.

On Wednesday, Leonard Lamar Mixson of Hampton was taken into custody and charged with Second-Degree Burglary and Grand Larceny. A search warrant was issued for a home that contained physical evidence from the burglary. Multiple subjects were detained.

HPD thanked the multiple departments for their cooperation.
