    GBI arrests 2 Bulloch County men in rape investigation

    SCREVEN COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV)—The GBI announced that they have arrested and charged two Bulloch County men after a rape investigation on Friday.

    The GBI said that on Sept. 1, 2024, the Screven County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) asked the GBI to investigate the rape of two teenage girls.

    According to the GBI, Fredrion Javari Spells, age 21, of Portal, Ga., was charged with rape, child molestation and sexual battery. Wesley Travis Brown, age 17, of Statesboro, Ga., was charged with rape, statutory rape and sexual battery.

    Spells and Brown were booked into the Screven County Jail.

    This investigation is active and ongoing. Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be given to Ogeechee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
