    BCSO to offer Community Emergency Response Team training

    BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WSAV) – On Saturday, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) announced registration is open for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Training Program.

    The CERT Basic Training program provides training to Beaufort County residents to increase self-sufficiency in a disaster.

    Participants learn skills that will enable them to provide emergency assistance to their families and neighbors.

    CERT classes are offered free of charge and are held at various times throughout the year.

    Fall 2024 classes will be held at Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue located at 40 Summit Drive on Hilton Head Island.

    Registration is required due to limited seating.

    The course is taught in four class sessions: Monday and Wednesday nights from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., culminating with a Saturday exercise starting at 9 a.m.

    October 7 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

    October 9 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

    October 14 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

    October 16 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

    October 19 from 9 a.m.- end of exercise

    Why doesn’t Jasper County offer something like this smh. I guess Beaufort County residents are the only ones that needs this type of training 🙄
