Tattnall Co. School District respond to social media threat

TATTNALL COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) – There was extra security at Tattnall County schools on Monday due to a Snapchat message circulating social media.

According to the Tattnall County Board of Education (BOE), the threat circulating in Tattnall County is the same one that has impacted several surrounding counties in recent days.

The Tattnall County Board of Education says local authorities are actively investigating its origins within the community, and out of an abundance of caution, they provided a strong police presence on campus.

The BOE said the Snapchat message circulating warned of a potential threat to North Tattnall Middle School.
