ATHENS, Ga. (WSAV) — This weekend, Savannah native Claude Felton received a huge honor during the first quarter of Georgia’s home opener against Tennessee Tech.

The 400 level of the brand-new press box will be known as Claude Felton Press Level. The ceremony took place on the field and Felton received a huge ovation from the 93,000 fans in attendance. Felton spent 45 years at UGA as the Sports Information Director.

Felton is also a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America Hall of Fame and the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.

The 500 level of the press box is named after Coach Dan McGill.
