BLUFFTON, S.C. (WSAV) – Palmetto Breeze Transit has announced an initiative to bring attention to its Bluffton Breeze service by capitalizing on ‘World Car Free Day’ on Sunday, September 22.

The Bluffton Breeze and the Lowcountry Regional Transportation Authority (LRTA) have announced that the following Monday, Sept. 23, will be ‘Bluffton Car Free Day’. Riders who forgo their cars to use the Breeze instead, which has more than 60 stops in the area, and share their experiences will receive a free ‘Transit Tote’ bag.

“Bluffton Car Free Day is the perfect opportunity for anyone who’s been interested in giving The Bluffton Breeze a try,” said Mary Lou Franzoni, LRTA Executive Director. “The Bluffton Breeze operates weekdays year-round, offering an alternative to driving on the often congested roadways across Bluffton and Okatie.”

Bluffton Breeze’s bus fleet is equipped with a bike rack and wheelchair accessibility. The service runs on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The fare is $1 per trip.
