HARDEEVILLE, S.C. (WSAV) – A massive drug bust in Jasper County sent several people to jail, including a mother and son.

The operation netted tens of thousands of dollars worth of drugs and guns.

While executing a search warrant at a home on Jenkins Avenue Tuesday night, detectives from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office and the Hardeeville Police Department were met with a series of armed suspects.

Some tried to escape but were apprehended nearby in the woods.

As they searched the home, investigators found 780 grams of cocaine, 36 grams of methamphetamine, over 5 pounds of marijuana, 11 firearms and over $8,600 in cash.

Some of the guns were fitted to become fully automatic weapons.

“It’s just a small dent within, you know, and no telling where this stuff is coming from,” said Jasper County Sheriff Donald Hipp.

Of the seven people put behind bars, four of those were family members, including Adrianne Williams and her son, Jamari.

In all, the following individuals were arrested and booked at the Jasper County Detention Center:

    • Jamari Williams of Hardeeville, SC: Charged with Trafficking more than 400 grams of Cocaine, Trafficking Methamphetamine, PWITD Marijuana, Possession of a Machine Gun, Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime, and outstanding arrest warrants for failure to stop for blue lights and DUS habitual offender.
    • Nasim Washington of Hardeeville, SC: Charged with Possession of a Machine Gun, PWITD Marijuana, and Fugitive from Justice.
    • Dvante Williams of Hardeeville, SC: Charged with Possession of a Schedule II Drug, Possession of a Schedule IV Drug, and Possession of Stolen Firearms x2.
    • Christopher Williams of Hardeeville, SC: Charged with PWITD Marijuana and Possession of a Machine Gun.
    • Kerstin Holmes of Pineland, SC: Charged with Resisting Arrest, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and outstanding arrest warrants including family court bench warrants and fugitive from justice out of Florida.
    • Adrianne Williams of Hardeeville, SC: Charged with PWITD Marijuana.

Officials say that while this was a big bust, there is still more to do to clean up the community.

“A lot of people say, ‘Well, I don’t want to talk to the police again. I don’t even know who you are.’ But talk to us. Let us know,” said Hardeeville Police Chief Sam Woodward. “You live in your community every day, you see what’s going on in your community every day, and that needs to be brought to us in our attention to let us try to start what’s going on.”

The guns will be sent to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division for processing to see if they may have been used in other crimes.

Once that investigation is finished, more charges are possible.
