Muddy Creek neighborhood invited to Hilton Head meeting

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (WSAV) – The town of Hilton Head Island is hosting a Neighborhood Gathering & Cookout for Muddy Creek neighbors.

Town officials will share updates and hope to gather valuable input from the community.

“The Muddy Creek Neighborhood has a rich Island history, and there is a lot of work to be done to address the unique infrastructure needs of this area,” stated Town Manager Marc Orlando.

“Engaging with the community to learn about their needs and informing them about Town initiatives and resources is where it all starts,” he continued. “We are committed to aligning our Strategic Action Plan with the community’s needs to help preserve its character while enhancing its amenities.”

The gathering is set for Thursday, Sept. 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. at 30 Bryant Road.

Town staffers will provide information on ongoing projects and initiatives, including:

• Conceptual plans for the 7.19-acre Site at 30 Bryant Road, which the Town acquired in May 2023
• Efforts to address issues within and enhance the Muddy Creek Neighborhood
• Enhancements to roads, parks, open spaces, and pathways
• Stormwater management and other environmental programs
• Driveway access and property addressing
• Discussions on zoning, districts, and maintaining community character
• The Home Safety Repair Program
• The Sewer Connection Program
• The Historic Neighborhoods Permitting and Design Studio, which assists with addressing, property access, conceptual site design, business licensing, and more
• Public safety and other additional topics

Hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and beverages will be available at the cookout for all residents to enjoy.
