Home fire takes Burton Fire over 2 hours to extinguish

BURTON, S.C. (WSAV) – The Burton Fire Department (BFD) is investigating an early morning fire in Beaufort County.

Just past 2:30am today, emergency crews responded to a reported house fire in the 200 block

of Bruce K Smalls in Grays Hill. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a double wide mobile home

fully engulfed in flames.

It took firefighters over two hours to fully extinguish the smoldering embers.

BFD, MCAS Fire and Emergency Services, Beaufort/Port Royal Fire

Department, Beaufort County EMS and Sheriff’s Office, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol

responded to the scene.

No injuries have been reported at this time. No one was in the home at the time of the fire as it was being remodeled.

The fire is under investigation.
