    New FEMA Disaster Declaration for Georgia after Debby

    SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – President Joe Biden has issued a new Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Emergency Declaration after Tropical Storm Debby.

    The decision triggers the release of Federal funds to help people and communities recover from Tropical Storm Debby which occurred August 4-20, 2024.

    The Individual Assistance Target counties include Bryan, Bulloch, Chatham, Effingham, Evans, Liberty, Long and Screven.

    The Public Assistance Designated counties are Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Berrien, Brantley, Brooks, Bryan, Bulloch, Burke, Camden, Candler, Charlton, Chatham, Clinch, Coffee, Colquitt, Cook, Echols, Effingham, Evans, Jeff Davis, Jenkins, Lanier, Long, Lowndes, McIntosh, Pierce, Screven, Tattnall, Thomas, Tift, Toombs, Ware and Wayne Counties.

    All areas in the State of Georgia are eligible for assistance under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.

    Individuals in Bryan, Bulloch, Chatham, Effingham, Evans, Liberty, Long, and Screven Counties can apply with FEMA online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov.
