LONG COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV)—The Long County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) has set a curfew for residents on Thursday.

Sheriff Craig Nobles said that the curfew will be from Thursday, Sept. 26 at 10 p.m. to Friday, Sept. 27 at 6 a.m.

The LCSO press release explained that during this curfew, it will be “unlawful for any person to travel, loiter, wander, or stroll in or upon public streets, highways, roads, lanes, parks or other public grounds, public places, public buildings, places of amusement, eating places, vacant lots or any other place within Long County.”

If you have a medical or family emergency, travel is permitted. The LCSO said that this curfew is set during peak deterioration of weather conditions in Long County, which are favorable for high winds and gusts with the possibility of tornados.

If you have questions about the curfew, contact the LCSO at (912) 545-2118.
