SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Fort Pulaski National Monument will reopen Tuesday and are asking visitors to use caution when exploring park trails because debris removal from the storm is still ongoing.

Fort Pulaski was closed due to Hurricane Helene. Staff has since completed an assessment of its facilities and resources and say they found minimal damage, but an extended utilities outage across the park resulted in the multi-day closure.

Also, mark your calendars for Fort Pulaski’s Centennial Celebration, “One Hundred Years of Fortitude,” on October 12-13. A full event schedule is available at www.nps.gov/fopu.

Fort Pulaski National Monument is located on U.S. Highway 80, 15 miles east of Savannah. For
