Beaufort PD: Juvenile injured in shooting at Garden Oaks Apartments

BEAUFORT, S.C. (WSAV) — Officers with the Beaufort Police Department (BPD) responded to a report of shots being fired at Garden Oaks Apartments Thursday night.

Around 10 p.m., BPD arrived on the scene at 2016 Salem Road, then received a report of a victim with a gunshot wound at the Lowes on Robert Smalls Parkway.

The victim, a juvenile, was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

According to BPD, at the apartment complex, they learned that the victim was inside a vehicle with a few other occupants. An unknown vehicle arrived and began shooting at the victim’s vehicle, officials said.

The driver of the unknown vehicle rode away, meanwhile, the juvenile got out of their vehicle and ran from the scene.

Several people were detained and questioned, BPD said, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
