SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS) will reopen the majority of its schools on Monday after closing due to Hurricane Helene.

Over 90% of schools and facilities are fully operational, however, the following do not have power or connectivity: The School of Humanities at Juliette Low, Jenkins High School, Southwest Elementary, Shuman Elementary (including the Formey Early Learning Center) Gould Elementary, and the Learning Academy at Jenkins.

These sites will continue with e-learning on Monday.

Officials said the district is experiencing food delivery delays because of the storm and assured that while every child will receive a meal on Monday, parents are encouraged to send breakfast or lunch with their children if they can.

Additionally, buses may need to use alternative routes on Monday due to storm debris or other storm-related issues impacting travel. Morning pick-up and evening drop-off times may be delayed.
