Savannah State football upsets undefeated Clark Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. (WSAV) — Savannah State shocked the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Saturday with a 35-28 win over undefeated Clark Atlanta on Saturday.

Despite the close score, the Tigers controlled the game throughout thanks to a strong showing by both the offense and defense.

Savannah State totaled 386 yards, evenly spread through both the run game and the pass game. The Tigers went for 192 yards on the ground and 194 yards through the air, both gained by Jhaydon Sullivan and Christian Burks.

The Tiger defense stayed solid throughout the game as well, only allowing Clark Atlanta to gain 228 total yards.

On Oct. 12 the Tigers will host Lincoln University CA at home at 6 p.m.
