    Hinesville family displaced after home damaged by fire

    HINESVILLE, Ga. (WSAV) — A fire Monday afternoon has displaced a Hinesville family after their home was damaged by flames and smoke.

    A fire on the 1000 block of Meredith Lane has left a couple and their infant child displaced after a fire damaged their home.

    According to Interim Hinesville Fire Department Deputy Chief Kevin Bechert, the fire began shortly after 4 p.m. An adult and the infant were inside the home at the time the fire broke out, both were able to exit safely and not injured in the fire.

    The origin of the fire is under investigation and was relegated mainly to the first floor of the two-story home. The Red Cross was not called in.
