    Leilani Simon murder trial continues with motions

    SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The trial of Leilani Simon, the Chatham County mother accused of killing her 20-month-old son Quinton , continued Thursday as the judge heard motions in the case.

    The prosecution is trying to have certain evidence admitted.

    Judge Tammy Stokes heard from some witnesses who talked about Leilani Simon’s state of mind in the days leading up to Quinton’s death.

    Chatham County Probate Judge under State investigation

    The judge listened to both counsels in the motions hearing and is expected to decide later Thursday if the evidence will be admitted.

    Jury selection is set to resume in the case on Friday with opening statements expected on Monday.

    Leilani Simon currently faces 19 charges, including malice and felony murder.
