SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The City of Savannah said they will resume curbside recycling collection services on Tuesday, Oct. 15, following a temporary suspension caused by the impacts of Hurricane Helene.

Services were halted to allow residents to use recycling carts for garbage overflow. Beginning on Oct. 15, residents are reminded to use their recycling carts exclusively for recyclable materials.

The City’s Sanitation Department will no longer collect garbage overflow from recycling carts, and all non-recyclable waste should be disposed of in regular city-issued, residential trash carts.

The City of Savannah remains committed to promoting recycling and reducing waste. For more information on what can be recycled and guidelines for curbside collection, residents are encouraged to visit //savannahga.gov/sanitation or call customer service at 912-651-6579 .
