SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — It’s been 11 weeks since the deadly shooting on Highway 204 left one man dead and the police without any leads.

25-year-old Tre’von Moorer took his last breath 78 days ago. For the first time, the victim’s mother, Sheena Lewis, is speaking out.

She talked to WSAV’s Tyler Nicole about the life changing day in hopes of bringing her son’s killer to justice.

The July 25 shooting is still being investigated by the Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) and they say they have no leads or new information to share with the public at this time, but Lewis said enough isn’t being done.

Lewis also said that she’s not coping and she won’t rest until there’s justice for trevon

“The only reason I’m still here is because my son is buried here,” Lewis said. “The police aren’t telling me anything, they just keep saying it’s under investigation.”

Lewis described Moorer as a vibrant friendly young man who always did the right thing. She said that she believes the attack was a case of mistaken identity.

“If he could avoid it, he would,” Lewis said. “He was the person that would try to keep the family together.  Okay, you guys don’t argue. You need to talk. That was Tre’von. So nobody can convince me that, okay, he done something wrong or stole something or cause any harm to anybody. because that wasn’t my son. My son was a gentle person. That was not my son at all.”

The only reason Lewis has been able to get any idea of what happened that day is from the man who tried to save her son before paramedics arrived at the scene.

“I saw the kid jump out of his car right there and fall over,” a man who goes by Country said, “and so I ran up to him and tried to help him. You know, I held his hand and talked to him. He couldn’t talk. He tried to talk, and he couldn’t. I told him to be quiet and try and hold some breath.”

Lewis asks that anyone with information submit a tip and come forward so her family can begin the healing process.

“My son was murdered in front of his daughters,” Lewis said. “Somebody should step up. It was 2 p.m., the sun was shining, everybody was recording. Somebody should step up.”

The man who tried to save Moorer told WSAV that his friends reported seeing three men jump out of a red Nissan Altima between the years of 2015-2016.

If have any information about the shooting, please call Crime Stoppers at (912) 234-2020 .

This is sad, mom keep the faith, there is a God and he is angry with the wicked everyday, and mankind will 'reap what they sow ". It's sad that we really don't have much of a support team for leaders to make sure that we all are protected against crime and fraud, our support system has felled us, but God will never fell you. We live in a world that love their richest and love Hollywood more then themselves, but don't be discourage mom. because God sees everything and he's crying out to the world with raging winds and stormy seas rising the waters, over the mountains and everywhere, that a change will take place in man's heart, yet their richest can't save them, only God can calm the wind and the rain, so mom don't be dismay or trouble, just give it to the Lord and I will also be praying for you. God bless you and he loves you, this is why he sent his son, because of Love not Richest.
