STATESBORO, Ga. (WSAV) — Inmates from the Bulloch County Correctional Institute donated 1,000 instant noodle packs to a local food bank after Hurricane Helene.

According to the Bulloch County Public Safety and Emergency Management Agency (EMA), one inmate from the correctional institute was inspired to give back after seeing how Helene affected so many people and how so many needed food from Statesboro Food Bank .

The agency said the man then came up with the idea to donate packs of instant noodles, along with the other inmates, that are available for them to buy from their commissary.

Collectively, the inmates donated 1,000 packs of noodles and on Friday, the Statesboro Food Bank’s director came by and accepted the donation.

Bulloch County Public Safety and EMA thanked those who donated.
